Wood Assist Rail, Stainless Steel #304

Project Overview

Structural glass railing brings openness and contemporary style to Ball State University’s North Dining Hall. Directionally polished 304 stainless steel and a warm wood assist rail create a refined, welcoming solution for the active campus environment.

Ball State University’s North Dining Hall in Muncie, Indiana, features a structural glass railing system designed to complement the facility’s contemporary interior. Specified by CSO Architects, the transparent glass infill preserves open sightlines and visual connectivity throughout the active university dining environment. The system’s 304 stainless-steel components are finished with a #4 directional polish, creating a clean and refined architectural appearance. A wood assist rail introduces natural warmth and tactile contrast, balancing the crisp glass and metal with an inviting material detail.
